ONCOLOGY MASSAGE

Power of touch quote
Gentle touch healing hands

Being able to offer a safe and relaxing space to people affected by cancer is the main reason I changed my career from working in accounts for over 20 years to retraining in massage. In 2013, my mum sadly lost her cancer battle. I was so grateful for the support I received from the Hospice, from diagnosis to end of life care, that I wanted to give a little back. In 2014, I started volunteering at my local Hospice offering the day care patients hand & foot massage. After going back to college and a lot of training, hard work, passion and dedication, I was lucky enough to secure the post of Complementary Therapist, a role that provided me with so much invaluable experience, and I got to see first hand the benefits massage, relaxation and gentle touch therapies can have.

It is a common misconception that people who have or have had cancer can't have massage. Oncology Massage is adapted to ensure that anyone can have a safe treatment. A thorough and in depth consultation will be carried out prior to any treatment commencing to determine how to proceed safely.

Here are just a few of the many benefits of Oncology massage.............

It can help reduce stress, pain, fatigue and nausea.

It can improve mood, sleep and range of movement.

It provides a safe space to relax and share feelings.

If you or anyone you know would benefit from this service and would like to know more please call or message and I can chat through everything with you and set your mind at ease if you have any fears or concerns.

“Just had an Oncology Massage from Taylor Made Holistics. Oh my word! I hadn't heard of Oncology Massage, and it's kind of similar to normal massage, but adapted for the body that's been through the mill. So gentle and loving actually! It's a very caring and nurturing style of massage. Don't think I've ever felt so blissed out after a massage before. And a very inarticulate thought occurred to me - about recovery and how to balance fatigue/activity/symptoms etc. That I should aim to recreate that caring, flowing, soft touch that just "holds" the body and the person in everything I try to do."
